Innovators in aircraft communications
Based in Nelson, New Zealand, Flightcell was founded in 2000 by New Zealand helicopter and fixed wing pilot, John Wyllie.
Frustrated that he could not use his cellphone while flying, John developed a device called 'Flightcell' - the world’s first cellphone to headset interface. Interest in the product was immediate, so John took his invention to the world and Flightcell International has been at the forefront of aviation communications technology ever since. Flightcell's customer base is vast and spans across the globe, including defence, police, air medical and aerial firefighting fleets around the world.
