Providing Greater Situational Awareness and Locator Capabilities
The team at Flightcell are always looking for new innovative ways to add to our ever-growing product range and we are proud to introduce the latest tactical enhancing feature, the Flightcell Software Defined Receiver (SDR).
The Flightcell SDR can monitor radio frequencies between 25 kHz to 2 GHz and can either be a stand-alone unit or be added as an additional feature to our Flightcell DZMx or DZMx Plus cellular & satellite communication systems. Control SDR wirelessly using our PED Connect Radio APP or on the unit and can currently receive AM, FM, Narrow Band FM, ADS-B IN on 1090MHz, UAT on 978 MHz and Marine AIS on 162.0 MHz.
The Flightcell SDR allows you to listen to your favorite radio station or receive the latest ATIS information, monitor a company frequency, Marine Channel 16 or VHF121.5 MHz, freeing up one of your radio transceivers. Furthermore, enhance your situational awareness by connecting wirelessly to your EFB and displaying ADS-B IN or UAT traffic on Foreflight / OzRunways EFB Apps. AIS information is received on 162.0 MHz and is currently displayed on the DZMx Connect Moving Map. Simply “click” on the vessel and see the vessel’s Name, MMSI, Latitude, Longitude, Speed, Heading and when the last position data was sent. Plus, you get an indication on what course to fly to intercept, by giving you the bearing and distance to that vessel and ETA calculated using your current GPS airspeed.
To recap, the new Flightcell Software Defined Receiver provides several features & benefits, including:
- Monitor radio frequencies between 25kHz to 2GHz
- Install on new or existing Flightcell DZMx or DZMx PLUS
- Control remotely over Wi-Fi (PED Connect Radio App) or on unit
